No matter which engine you choose, you'll enjoy the surefooted handling and control of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The Nissan Rogue has a strong 1.5-liter turbo-three rated at 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. However, there's no option for something more exciting, and all-wheel drive isn't standard in any Rogue trim.

The Outback provides adventure-ready capability in all configurations thanks to Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Subaru X-MODE® traction management, and at least 8.7 inches of ground clearance. While both models are impressively spacious, the Subaru Outback provides more personal space for your passengers. Compared to the Rogue, the Outback has more front and rear legroom (+1.3" front/+1.0" rear), front and rear shoulder room (+1" / +1.5"), and front and rear hip room (+1.4" / +1.4") inches). You'll have ample space for cargo in either SUV, with up to 75.6 cubic feet in the Outback and 74.1 cubes in the Rogue.

- The Subaru Outback comes standard with dual 7-inch touchscreens, while the Rogue has an 8-inch display. However, every Outback above the base trim gets an 11.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The current Nissan Rogue has an available 9-inch display and wireless CarPlay, but it's relegated to the top two trims, and Android Auto remains wired.
- Both models come standard with driver aids like collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. However, while all Outback models include Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering and Lane-Keep Assist, the Rogue doesn't offer these systems in its base configuration.
- A 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system is standard in all but the Outback's first two tiers. The Rogue has an available 10-speaker Bose sound system, but it's limited to the SL Premium Package and Platinum grades.
