Engine Options
The new Nissan Rogue offers slightly more standard horsepower than the Subaru Outback does. However, the Nissan Rogue only offers a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, with 201-horsepower. The Subaru Outback has a larger standard engine, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182-horsepower. The Outback lineup also offers an available 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 260-horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque, providing you with a strong, sportier performance each time you get behind the wheel.
Performance
Whether you're traveling on your daily outings around Atlanta, or you're heading on an adventure with family and friends, when you choose a new Subaru Outback model, you'll be able to take on any terrain and weather conditions around the country with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive in every model. With Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, the system sends power to all four-wheels and will divert it to the ones with the most traction if any are slipping, providing you with optimal traction and control. The new Nissan Rogue lineup comes equipped with standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available on all models for a higher price.
The new Subaru Outback lineup now features an Outback Wilderness model that has many off-road enhancements and additions. All Outback Wilderness models come with unique exterior styling, featuring 9.5-inches of ground clearance, front skid plates, all-terrain wheels with off-road tires, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a matte-black front hood decal, and reinforced roof rails that can carry up to 800 pounds. The new Nissan Rogue lineup doesn't offer a comparable off-road ready model.
Interior
The new Nissan Rogue has slightly more standard cargo space than the Subaru Outback does. However, folding the seats down awards you with 75.6 cubic feet of maximum cargo space in the Outback, compared to either 72.9 or 74.1 cubic feet in the new Rogue lineup.
Technology
Both the Subaru Outback and Nissan Rogue lineups offer a standard infotainment system, with the Rogue getting a slight edge with a standard 8-inch touchscreen and the Outback offering a standard 7-inch touchscreen. However, the Rogue only offers a larger 9-inch touchscreen as you climb up to the SL Premium package. The Subaru Outback lineup comes with a larger 11.6-inch touchscreen on all models but the base trim.
Safety
All Subaru Outback and Nissan Rogue models come with a suite of standard safety features. However, the Outback is the only one to come equipped with LED steering responsive headlights that turn with the wheel, letting you see better around corners. The Nissan Rogue lineup doesn't offer a similar feature.
