Subaru is well-known for making fun, comfortable and capable vehicles for drivers across the Atlanta, GA area. One of their latest releases is the 2022 Subaru Legacy, a family sedan, and we've absolutely fallen in love with this car at Classic Subaru of Atlanta. Read on to see what could have us so excited!
Performance
The Subaru Legacy is one of the few sedans produced with all-wheel drive standard, giving you terrific grip as you get up to speed on the highway. It uses a SUBARU BOXER® engine to produce 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque on the base trim. This powertrain gives the Legacy an EPA-estimated highway mileage of 35 mpg, meaning you can reach nearly 650 miles of highway range.
Upgrading to one of the XT trims gets you the 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER® engine. This provides more power under the hood, producing up to 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The Vehicle Dynamics Control and Traction Control System work together with Active Torque Vectoring to ensure the Legacy can keep traction on all sorts of terrain.
Interior
Despite being a sedan, the 2022 Subaru Legacy has plenty of space for passengers to spread out in. There's 42.8 inches of legroom in the front and 39.5 inches in the back, and your headroom sits at 39.4 inches and 37.2 inches respectively. All of this comes together to give Legacy drivers up to 105.5 cubic feet of passenger volume, and you can also take advantage of the 15.1-cubic-foot trunk for storing baggage and groceries.
You don't just have space in this sedan, you'll also love the amenities you can find inside. While the base trim goes without any frills, you'll have heated front seats, a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle on all other trims. Upgrading to even higher trims can get you leather or Nappa leather-trimmed upholstery, heated rear outboard seats and steering wheel as well as ventilated front seats.
Technology
This 2022 Subaru sedan has some impressive technology on offer, making it a great car for any technophiles in the Atlanta, GA area. You'll have dual 7.0-inch touchscreens standard with your STARLINK® Multimedia system, and upgrading to just the second trim up gets you the 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system, or you can pick up the Multimedia Navigation system as an option or as standard on the XT trims.
Listening to your music can be an incredible experience with the available 576-watt-equivalent Harman Kardon audio system, which has twelve speakers. You'll have two USB ports in the front of the cabin standard, or you can get an additional two in the rear on all but the base trim, ensuring all your passengers' devices can stay charged.
Safety
Subaru models are always rated very well for safety, and the 2022 Legacy doesn't disappoint. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the Legacy as high as their ratings go, with Good ratings across the board for crashworthiness, Good headlights and LATCH ease of use and Superior front crash prevention for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian. It's no surprise that the Legacy is one of their Top Safety Pick+ awardees.
Part of this amazing safety is thanks to Subaru's standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. This includes features like adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning and lane keep assist functions. Blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert are also available, helping keep Atlanta, GA drivers safe from merging or backing into the path of a car that's in your blind spot.
